Welcome to DMI - Dhirubhai Mistry Institute for Print Education, Research & Training.

DMI is aimed at teaching the same sound fundamentals and advanced techniques that are used world wide by successful entrepreneurs in screen printing. Its training programmes are meant for cost effective yet

quality print solutions so that screen printers are able to increase productivity and profitability.

The establishment of DMI is indeed a historic moment in the Indian screen printing. It is an initiative of Grafica Flextronica which is specialized in the manufacture of high quality screen printing / UV curing / screen making machines and equipment since 1989. DMI is located within Grafica premises.

Late Shri Dhirubhai Mistry, founder of Grafica Group of Companies had a great vision to set up a unique institute to impart training and education in screen printing to students. Many of our customers and industry associates feel that an institute like DMI was a long due. To transform his VISION into a reality, Grafica's core management team made every effort by spending enormous time and resources.

DMI received a real sustenance from one great guru from printing industry, Michel Caza, Chairman of Academy of Screen Printing Technology (ASPT) and ex-president of FESPA. I specially thank Michel Caza for all the support he has extended to DMI's establishment right from evolution to completion. I express my high gratitude to the entire FESPA team for their support. I am also thankful to Michael Robertson, President, SGIA; Dawn M Hohl, Technical Training Manager, SPTF and their team for technical inputs.

I am also grateful to all our customers, industry associates and other well wishers who were a constant support for the setting up of DMI. In turn, DMI is committed to give back to all its supporters by offering various educational and training programs, courses, seminars, workshops, experts' lectures, technical consulting, etc. Grafica management also acknowledges its employees for their cooperation for the successful completion of

this noble project.

These programmes are being conducted by experienced team of faculties. Also, renowned international speakers, namely, Michel Caza, Mike Young, Charlie Taulieb, Scott Fresener, Bill Hood and many others will also come to DMI from time to time, to share their rich experience and provide deeper insights into advanced yet practical techniques. This way, DMI is committed to help Grafica customers in every possible way in terms of knowledge and technological expertise. For our industry associates, DMI will be a strategic platform. And for students, the training at DMI will be an educational experience!

A fitting tribute to late

Shri Dhirubhai Mistry

The founder of Grafica group of companies (1952).

As a genius in printing technology, he himself was a student of Fine Arts & Design from Mumbai's famous Sir J J School of Applied Arts.

It was his vision to set up an institute like DMI to provide full fledged education and training to students in screen printing and make them finest screen printing technologists rather than machine operators.

Grafica took up the initiative to make his dream a reality. In just two years, the seed sowed by him has transformed into a beautiful tree - DMI.

The present Grafica Management pays a rich tribute to late Shri Dhirubhai Mistry for his noble vision.

Dear Bhargav, You did it by creating DMI in the honour of your father! And I can only say Bravo and to be glad if the support of the so called Guru of Screen-printing as some of my Indian friends name me to my honour my modest contribution to the development and improvement of screen-printing in the world and mostly in a country dear at my heart, I mean India.

That is my total belief, and I also believe that DMI is exactly the ideal tool that can be used to achieve goal which, if I look to the fantastic potential of our dear technology in India, will need not only your own efforts, the ones of DMI as an "Institute and Institution" = even better than a "Simple School", but also the help of all the Indian Institutions and of the FESPA, are deeply concerned by the success of such and initiative that we support, encourage and help with all our power and all our possibilities.

As you know, again, a big part of my heart belongs to India and also to you, my spiritual son and pupil in screen-printing and you can then understand that I shall continue to make, in the limits of my possibilities and power of course, all the efforts, all the efforts to push DMI to the top!
