Successful marriage of screen & digital in pink city of Jaipur
“Screen and digital printing are brothers more than enemies”, Michel Caza, FESPA Past-President.
And, Sanjay Chabra, owner of Jaipur based Innovative Concepts , an MBA, LLB, who has been in printing business since 2000, seems to have fully convinced that a printing process (screen) that is unique in itself can be used to do jobs that cannot be handled by digital.
Realizing the immense benefits of screen-digital combo, the company has successfully embraced screen printing process by deploying a jumbo (40” x 60”) Camshell semi automatic screen printing machine along with inline jet air dryer – both from Grafica. It has two digital presses - HP-Scitex, HP 9000 and also flexo printing set up. Located on 8000 sq ft area, the company undertakes large-scale outdoor advertising business with some top corporate clients such as Vodafone, Tata Indicom, and Airtel in their list.
No more manual screen
“Earlier, we were doing our screen printing jobs manually, employing 20 people, where as now with automation in place, we require only 2-3 people. We are also able to achieve higher production with accuracy. That is the advantage of automation”, says Mr. Chabra.
In search of quality machine
The search began to buy a quality screen-printing machine. But he wanted to make sure that he gets a real quality machine and a reliable after sales service. Recalling his visit to the Grafica's stall at FESPA INDIA show in New Delhi, he said that he was impressed with the live demo of the company's machines besides getting a convincing briefing on screen printing. After a thorough evaluation, he found 'Grafica' to be the right and the only choice.
Post installation training
“I must appreciate that all the way from Mumbai Grafica had sent their expert to give us full-fledged training for 15 days. They taught the right method of screen making process and how to utilize the machine to its optimum level, using all the features. Besides this, 2-3 of my staff underwent 3-day training at DMI,” says Mr. Chabra. “This is something unique and this is a valuable value addition that Grafica is providing to its customer”.
Happy with Service
Having experienced satisfactory service from Grafica, he now wonders if there was any other company in India, which provides such a concerned after sales service. “Their service is fully assured from the very beginning. They are cooperative and we are comfortable to call them anytime if any help is required. Fortunately, so far there was no problem with the machine”.
As a player in digital, Mr. Chabra seems to have understood so well the digital-screen parallel tricks. He proved that there is no question of anymore attitude to kill screen-printing process. On the contrary, he intends to build an interesting and profitable combination of two powerful printing forces, an 'Innovative Concept' and trend that could be emulated by other digital printers!
