Purecotz Eco Lifestyle prefers GraficaTex to print on
organic cotton fabric
Amit Narke, Managing Director of Umbergaon based Purecotz Eco Lifestyle Pvt Ltd, shares his passion and success in 100% organic cotton garment manufacturing, majorly kids wear. These are printed on GraficaTex (Print area: 24' x 36” – 8 color 14 pallet).
After working in industrial sector for few years, Amit Narke, an electronics engineer, rather decided to associate with an electrifying movement called 'organic cotton farming'. He ventured into full-fledged manufacturing of garments from 100% organic cotton fibre under the name Quanta Impex in 1996. Later, Purecotz Eco Lifestyles Pvt Ltd was incorporated in 2000.
Tell us about your beginning:
I am from Nagpur region. I came across Vidharbha Organic Farmers Association (known as VOFA) at Yeotmal, who were engaged in 'organic cotton farming' movement. I went deep into their movement and I found they were growing cotton traditionally yet ingeniously. That really attracted me. It's an interesting activity. Even the buyers from abroad often prefer to visit the organic cotton farms and see farmers' passion filled activities. And I also visit once in a year since I love to see their work.
I started my garment manufacturing unit with 1500 sq feet space in Umbergaon, employing 30 persons. Now our company has 60000 sq feet factory with all production facilities such as embroidery, stitching, cutting, printing, heat transfer printing, fusing, etc. We employ about 500 people. We also have inhouse garment printing unit with 2
manual tables of 20 mtr each, GraficaTex, complete screen making units (3040 setup), and Nano-Print plus for heat transfer label printing.
Why did you choose GraficaTex:
During my visit to their factory I was impressed with Grafica's manufacturing capability and top management including Bhargav Mistry, MD, who is an expert tutor in garment printing. By this time I was convinced that they not only make good machines but also capable of providing knowledge support. We have invested in their automatic DTG screen printing machine and complete screen making set up, and we are satisfied with Grafica. And, our staff underwent skill development training at DMI institute.

“There is a growing trend both for embroidery and printing including all over printing. About 10-20% of our production (cut pieces) involves printing inhouse, and there are some jobs with 'All over Prints (AoPs)' which come from the mills, duly printed.
“Since Screen is the heart of screen printing, we systematically follow all the procedures. We use only polyester mesh, give proper tension as specified, coat-dryexpose with right methods. We have understood that if the screen is bad, even the best machine is useless in terms of quality of printing.”
